Snow Village is built completely of snow and ice. Construction workers have created halls, corridors, rooms, galleries, ice furniture, sculptures, and chutes -- all out of snow and ice.
For eight years, Snow Village has opened its doors for visitors on New Year's Eve. Every year the Snow Village is different, and it continues to expand and improve.
Snow Village is well known in Murmansk Oblast and far beyond its borders. It is one of the most recognizable tourist brands on the Kola Peninsula. The Snegoled International Festival of Snow and Ice Sculpture has become an integral part of this brand. The festival is traditionally held in late January.
In 2013, the snow buildings in Kirovsk were recognized as the largest in Russia and Snow Village entered the Russian Book of Records as the largest monolithic construction of snow.
